Mental Image and Representation
Editions Mercier & Associés 2018
A very large and very hazy realm encompasses memory, imagination, dreams, and actually all possible representations of the world other than those presently before our eyes.
Within this realm, the shapes taken by these representations are moving, elusive, extremely varied, and above all almost impossible to set down.
So, when the term mental image is pronounced, the fluctuating, undefinable, immaterial qualities it designates maintain its status of something so general as to spontaneously divert us from delving into it in depth – as when faced with the unknown.
